Worldwide stock shortages suggest Sony misjudged just how popular Sucker Punch’s PS4 exclusive Ghost of Tsushima would be among fans.
Ghost of Tsushima has sold out at several retailers in Japan, prompting Sony to ramp up production.
Similar stock shortages are noted at Amazon in the US and Canada.
Unofficial estimates suggest the game sold 2 million copies in the first three days after release.

The gaming giant says that it is ramping up production to respond to heightened demand and recommends fans consider purchasing the game digitally via the PlayStation Store.
The tweet reads:
Ghost of Tsushima has been received far better than we expected and has consequently sold out in some stores. Additional production is currently underway, but the download version is also available on the PS Store.

In other parts of the world, a similar situation has emerged. Amazon US and Amazon Canada have both sold out of copies of Ghost of Tsushima.
